Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were involved in a run-fest on Saturday, May 1 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The teams churned out an accumulated tally of 30 sixes and in the end, it was Rohit Sharma’s MI, who came out trumps by four wickets.
After being put in to bat first, the Super Kings smashed 218 for the loss of four wickets in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Ambati Rayudu’s unbeaten 27-ball 72 coupled with Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali’s half-centuries led the charge for the Yellow Army.
In the run-chase, MI found themselves in all sorts of trouble after the required rate went up to nearly 16 with eight overs left. Nevertheless, they held their nerve and chased down 219 off the last ball. In the meantime, despite the loss, CSK remain at the top of the ladder.
