All eight teams will get a last chance to bolster their squads ahead of the IPL 2021 when they take part in the auction. The much-awaited event is scheduled to take place on February 18 in Chennai. The franchises will have 292 players to choose from in the forthcoming IPL Auction.
A total of 164 Indian players, 125 overseas players and 3 players from Associate nations will be up for grabs. Initially, a total of 1,144 players had registered themselves for the auction before the list was pruned by the BCCI after the franchises submitted their shortlist of players. Out of the 292 players, a maximum of only 61 players will get the IPL contracts.
