Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been out of action since the West Indies tour in which he became the third Indian bowler to pick a hat-trick in Test matches, a feat he achieved in Kingston, Jamaica. Bumrah has been amazing in the longest format of the game with over 60 wickets in 12 Test matches.
He has also picked up five-wicket hauls in South Africa, England, Australia, and West Indies, making him the only Asian pacer to do this. Bumrah, unfortunately, suffered a stress fracture in his lower back after feeling trouble after the West Indies tour and scans revealed the worst-case scenario. However, consultation with doctors in London spared him the surgery but had to undergo a rigorous rehabilitation process in order to strengthen his back in order to prolong his career.

The Indian pacer has been ruled out of action for this year at least and is expected to make a return on the tour to New Zealand in 2020. India plays five T20Is, 3 ODIs and 2 Test matches, which will be under the ICC World Test Championship annals. Meanwhile, India has defeated South Africa and Bangladesh at home in Tests and will face West Indies next in T20Is and ODIs.
Meanwhile, Bumrah has been sharing updates on his recovery with his fans. He recently shared an image of a broken middle stump during practice and even a photo of himself training with his Mumbai Indians’ teammates Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya. Bumrah shared a video of himself in the gym with the caption “Ready to jump into this week like. #MondayMotivation”

Former India captain Kapil Dev recently mentioned that Jasprit Bumrah will continue to attract injuries due to his unique bowling action while saying that bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar will have a longer career because of his copybook action.
“If your bowling action is technically sound you make a bigger impact. See what happened to Bumrah, his action attracts injuries. He uses his arm more than the body, so that can be a problem. A bowler like Bhuvneshwar will last longer because he uses his body,” Kapil was quoted as saying by Sportstar.com.
