There is little doubt over Jimmy Neesham‘s credentials as the most active cricketer on Twitter. The New Zealand star just loves to interact and mess around with fans on the social media platform. More often than not, he picks the Indian fans to rile them up. Well, Neesham was back to his old tricks once again on Saturday and this time he targeted India skipper Virat Kohli to make the Indian fans angry.
Neesham, who loves to post hilarious one-liners on Twitter, praised England opener Rory Burns in his own style. Burns scored a stunning century on his Ashes debut and Neesham used the opportunity to take a funny dig at Kohli. The New Zealand allrounder hilariously wrote that Burns has more runs in the Ashes in just one inning than Kohli has scored in his entire Ashes career.
“Rory Burns now has more runs in his first Ashes innings than Virat Kohli has in his entire Ashes career,” wrote Neesham.

It should be noted that Ashes is an iconic Test series that is played between England and Australia. England, meanwhile, have taken a firm grip on the first Test. In reply to Australia‘s 284, the hosts finished day two of the Ashes-opener on a commanding 267 for 4 with Burns and Ben Stokes unbeaten.
The southpaw focused backing on skills but not on criticism
Just a week ago, there were huge doubts over Burns selection in the squad. would even be able to break into the England team for the Ashes after his poor outing against Ireland. England were dismissed for 85 in an unconvincing win over Ireland at Lord’s, with Burns managing 12 runs in the game. Burns’ unorthodox technique only made things tough for him, however, he was given an opportunity and he has fully capitalised on it.
The southpaw said that he did not pay much attention to the criticism and just tried to back his skills.
“I buried my head in the sand to all of the comments, media and that sort of stuff,” Burns said after the day’s play before adding: “I just tried to get myself around people that back me – team-mates, coaches – I tried to back my own skills.”
