England players recently returned from Sri Lanka
So for time being, the government have enforced lockdown in their country as precaution and safety of the people. Meanwhile, Joe Root, the Test skipper of England recently returned from Sri Lanka after the two-match Test series got abandoned due to COVID-19 outbreak.
Root feels that he is an active individual and he is busy with his son. But, a precise formula will certainly help him in improving. He also recited that although there is no cricket for some time now but it is a great opportunity for him to recover from all his negatives and mark his away back in good shape.
“I’m an active person anyway, with my young son keeping me busy, but having a structured plan will help me improve in certain areas. We’d obviously much rather be playing cricket right now, but this gives us an opportunity to recover from a demanding past 12 months and get our bodies in good shape for when matches resume,” Joe Root said as quoted by News18
Also, Heather Knight, the England Women cricketer said that she, along with other players, should remain fit and fully geared up. So that they can come forward and play whenever the opportunity knocks their door after the stern situation of Coronavirus outbreak settles down.
“This is a new challenge we’ll all just be doing what we can to maintain our levels and hopefully be as ready as we can when we get back playing, whenever that comes,” added Knight
