England stunner Jofra Archer came back in the 2nd ODI against Australia with a bang-on performance after a dismal show in the opening ODI. Archer pulled off a three-wicket haul to push his side, marking a 24-run victory over the visitors at the Old Trafford in Manchester.
After the comprehensive win, the home side levelled the series 1-1 against Aaron Finch & company. Archer fetched first success for his side by dismissing David Warner, who was caught by Jos Buttler. At number three came all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, who was looking decently assertive to get some runs under his belt for the team but confident Archer had different plans.
Before Stoinis could get in action, Archer banged a bouncer against him that left the batsman bewildered. Unable to read the delivery, Stoinis failed to control his shot and played the ball in the air to get caught eventually.

The dismissal took place in 8th over, and the all-rounder bid farewell to the field by scoring 9 off 14 balls. After his cameo, the Kangaroos stumbled to 37/2 under eight overs in the 232-run chase. Aussie skipper Aaron Finch came in all the mood to win big for his team and established a robust partnership of 107 runs for the third wicket with Marnus Labuschagne.
The skipper produced a significant 73 off 105 balls, but Labuschagne couldn’t touch half-century as he marched towards the pavilion on 48 off 59 balls. The Brits’ were in a commanding position until then, but Labuschagne’s dismissal bought all the ill fate to the team, and they got bundled up at 207. Chris Woakes and Sam Curran’s spells were heavy enough to break the visitors back in no time.
The duo shared six scalps between them. After the deadly spell from the duo, none of the players among the guests mustered the courage to put a fightback against the spirited home side. The series now stands levelled, and the two nations will lock horns for the final time in this series on September 16 (Wednesday). After concluding this series, selected players are set to take a flight for the UAE to flaunt their class in IPL 2020, set to get underway from September 19.
