England star cricketer Jofra Archer has become a Twitter sensation. While he is still pretty active on Twitter, it is his previous tweets that have gone viral in the last couple of months. Time and again, there have been tweets dug up which were apt for a particular situation.
There were multiple such situations in the World Cup where his tweets were rendered absolutely gold. Hence, in no time, Archer became a Twitter sensation. There was constant digging of his tweets. In fact, right from the Super Over final to making his way to the England side, there were tweets for almost every situation.
Recently, there is another Jofra Archer tweet that went viral. India coach Ravi Shastri was re-appointed as the head coach. The former India all-rounder beat the likes of Mike Hesson, Tom Moody and three others to retain his position.
The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) which consisted of members Kapil Dev, Shantha Rangaswamy and Anshuman Gaekwad conducted interviews on the 16th of August. The 1983 World Cup-winning captain stated that Shastri was appointed unanimously and nobody else, including skipper Virat Kohli, was asked to voice his opinion.
Hence, Shastri’s contract has now been extended till the 2021 T20 World Cup in India. The decision to re-appoint Shastri didn’t go down well with the fans who took to Twitter to express their displeasure. However, it was Archer who knew it all along. He tweeted, “Why Ravi” way back in March 2014.

Ravi Shastri was the favourite among the six candidates
Despite all the criticism, Ravi Shastri was always the front-runner to retain his position at the helm. He had the backing of the current Indian skipper Virat Kohli. “With Ravi bhai, all of us have a great camaraderie, everyone in the team shares mutual respect [with him]. And we have done really well together as a group,” Kohli had told in a press conference before he departed for the West Indies tour.
Under Shastri, India have done decently in a two-year period. The team won 11 Test matches out of 21, which included a memorable Test series win in Australia. They won 44 out of 61 ODIs and 25 out of 36 T20Is since July 2017. However, India fell short in the World Cup earlier this year where they were knocked out in the semi-finals. They also lost Test series’ in South Africa and England in this period.
