The Karachi Kings showed their dominance over the Quetta Gladiators to start their campaign in the 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The team played like the defending champions, chasing down 122 with more than six overs to spare. Even in their second game against Islamabad United, they looked set for consecutive victories after Sharjeel Khan smashed a jaw-dropping ton.
But they couldn’t defend 196 and lost by five wickets against Islamabad United. In their next match, Imad Wasim and Co would be up against the Multan Sultans in the first of Saturday’s doubleheader in Karachi. The Sultans, led by Mohammad Rizwan, on the contrary, lost both their games in the start and are placed at the bottom half. They would want to climb the ladder soon.
Pitch and Conditions
The pitch at the National Stadium has been a belter for batting and hence, a high-scoring match can, well and truly, be expected. Chasing should be the way forward as scores of even over 190 aren’t deemed safe. The temperature will be around 31 degrees Celsius with the humidity in the mid-30s.

Probable Top Performers for KAR vs MUL
Babar Azam– Karachi Kings
Babar Azam started with a failure in the Kings’ opening game against the Gladiators. But he is, slowly but surely, finding his rhythm. In the previous game against the United, he scored 62 runs off 54 balls and looked in impressive touch. The Sultans’ bowlers can’t afford to let him get his eyes in.
Mohammad Rizwan– Multan Sultans
Mohammad Rizwan became the Player of the Series in Pakistan’s T20Is against South Africa. He has now managed to carry forward the form to the PSL as well. The right-hander doesn’t go for extravagant shots. Rather, he prefers to put his head down and accelerate as the situation of the matches.
