Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard have shared a great camaraderie over the years. Pollard has plied his trade for quite a few years in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Mumbai Indians (MI). For the four-time champions, the West Indies captain has played under the leadership of Rohit. The veteran has played a number of jaw-dropping knocks for Rohit’s men over the years.
However, all the friendship will take a backseat when Pollard and the Indian limited-overs vice-captain face off in the T20I and ODI series, starting December 6. The tour consists of three T20Is and as many ODIs. The shortest formats will take place in Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad even as the 50-overs matches will be played in Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Cuttack.
As far as Pollard and Rohit’s solidarity is concerned, a development has come to the fore. It has been learned that the Trinidadian has unfollowed his IPL skipper on Twitter. However, it was all for a promotional cause for the Caribbean team’s upcoming tour of India. Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the series posted a video, featuring both the Mumbaikar and Pollard.
Pollard and Rohit Sharma feature in a hilarious advertisement
In the clip, Rohit can be seen receiving Pollard from the airport and then carrying his luggage. Pollard liked the song that was being played in the car. But then a news popped on the radio which reported that Pollard would be having fun while defeating India in their own backyard. Then all of a sudden Rohit stopped the car and told his mate that there was some damage to the vehicle.
Pollard then got down to push the car, but Rohit started the car and threatened to run away. After going a distance, Rohit stopped his car, which made Pollard smile. And then, Pollard’s joy vanished in thin air within a split second. Sharma dropped his luggage on the ground and sped away. Pollard then kicked the ground out of frustration even as Rohit laughed at his IPL teammate.

As far as action on the field is concerned, since November 2018, India and the West Indies have played 6 T20Is with the Men in Blue winning all of them. In fact, in their last 9 games in the format, the Caribbean side has won only a solitary game. Of late, Pollard and Co slumped to a 2-0 defeat versus Afghanistan at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow after clean-sweeping the ODI series.
