Australia star Marnus Labuschagne lost his cool and did not shy away from venting his frustration at an umpire’s call on Saturday. The incident took place when Labuschagne was batting for Queensland in their recently-concluded Sheffield Shield clash against Tasmania. The right-handed batsman was absolutely furious after the umpire adjudged him out.
His reaction came after he was judged to have edged a delivery from Beau Webster to the wicketkeeper. As the ball passed between him and his bat and went to the wicketkeeper, Labuschagne was convinced that he had not edged the ball. The Tasmania fielders went up in unison while Labuschagne started walking towards square leg as he thought the decision would come in his favour.
Few seconds later, he saw the Tasmania fielders celebrating and realised that he was given out. Frustrated with the ball, he turned towards the umpire to express his displeasure with his reaction before bringing his bat up to his head in frustration. He was also seen saying something to the umpire while walking off the field.

Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja star as Queensland beat Tasmania:
While Marnus Labuschagne was furious at his dismissal, he did play an important role in Queensland’s three-wicket win over Tasmania. Out-of-favour Australia batsman Usman Khawaja was the star of the show, scoring an unbeaten fourth-inning century as the Sheffield Shield table-toppers chased down 310 to register their third win in four games.
Labuschagne scored 78 off 151 balls with the help of eight boundaries. Before his dismissal, he also shared a crucial 137-run stand with Khawaja who remained on 115. Australia’s Test specialists like Labuschagne, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon and Steve Smith are currently plying their trade in the domestic circuit while their national teammates are in New Zealand for the T20I series.
Australia had recently named two separate squads for Test tour of South Africa and the T20I series in New Zealand since the schedule would have overlapped. However, Cricket Australia had to call off the South Africa tour due to COVID-19 and thus the Test stars decided to play in the Sheffield Shield.
