The 4th game of the 2019 Malaysia Men’s CWC Challenge League A will be played between Malaysia and Canada at the Kinrara Academy Oval in Kuala Lumpur.
The match starts at 10:00 AM local time (2:00 AM GMT) (7:30 AM IST).
This game will be live on Malaysia Cricket’s Facebook Page.
Canada and Malaysia will clash off on Wednesday after making a good start to their respective campaigns in the inaugural edition of the League A in the Men’s CWC Challenge. Canada, who sealed their place in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers recently, got better of Vanuatu. They restricted Vanuatu to 160 after elected to bowl first. Canada were 4 down for just 57 on the board but skipper Navneet Dhaliwal guided his team to win.
He scored an unbeaten 92-ball 72 during the successful chase. On the other hand, the hosts Malaysia thumped Denmark. Three of Malaysia’s top four bagged ducks but they finished with 192/7 in their 50 overs. All-rounder Suharril Fetri anchored the innings with an unbeaten 64 and recorded figures of 2/22 in his ten overs later on. Norwira Zazmie claimed a 4-wicket haul as Denmark bundled out for just 148.
A bit of start and stop in the play could be seen on Thursday at the Kinrara Oval. Scattered Thunderstorms are expected during the day and there are slight chances of rain during the match. However, there might not be major interruptions due to the facilities at the venue.
The Kinrara Academy Oval can produce big scores unlike the other venues in Malaysia. Two of the last three List A games here saw the first batting team making 230+. Chasing might not be as tough as the recent record is suggesting. Anything target close to 220 can be chased here.
Average first innings score: 225 (List A matches since 2018)
Record of chasing teams: Won – 0, Lost – 3
