The 7th game of the 2019 Malaysia Men’s CWC Challenge League A will be played between Malaysia and Qatar at the Selangor Turf Club in Kuala Lumpur.
The match starts at 10:00 AM local time (2:00 AM GMT) (7:30 AM IST).
The hosts Malaysia were rattled by a sensational effort with the bat from Canada. Navneet Dhaliwal led his team from the front with a 140-run knock as Canada posted a record score of 408/7. Their innings included as many as 28 sixes which is also a record. Malaysia were bundled out for 202 in the chase; two runs less than half of Canada’s total. Poor conversion of starts didn’t help the hosts in reducing the losing margin.
They did begin their campaign with a 44-run win over Denmark despite struggling for the first 20 overs of both innings. They would like to make a comeback on Friday when they face Qatar in Selangor. Qatar’s tournament began with a close win over Singapore. Qatar won by 19 runs while defending their total of 232/8. Singapore lost their last seven wickets for 15 runs when 35 runs were needed from seven overs.
The weather forecast suggested Haze on Friday, especially in the morning. It could delay the start of the game but the weather afterwards is quite clear.
Canada chased down the target of 160 comfortably against Vanuatu in the first match here while Denmark came close to Singapore’s total of 249/7. The track was good for a 225-run chase as Denmark’s poor bowling at the end allowed Singapore to add 20 extra runs.
Average first innings score: 200 (List A matches)
Record of chasing teams: Won – 1, Lost – 1

The Qatar skipper Iqbal Hussain has good numbers with the ball and is a decent contributor with the bat. He picked a 4-wicket haul in the last match. The Malaysia skipper Ahmad Faiz is also trustable among batsmen. Khurram Shahzad averages 30 with the bat across all formats for Qatar which is the highest among all players in the current team.

Captain – Suharril Fetri, Iqbal Hussain, Ahmad Faiz, Zaheeruddeen Ibrahim.
Vice-Captain – Khurram Shahzad, Virandeep Singh, Awais Malik, Norwira Zazmie.
Suharril Fetri took three wickets and scored 21 runs during their defeat against Canada. He was player of the match in Malaysia’s first match. Hence he should be either captain or vice-captain.

Keeper – Shafiq Sharif
Batters – Virandeep Singh, Zaheeruddeen Ibrahim (VC), Ahmad Faiz

The maximum limit of four all-rounders has to be used for this match. Suharril Fetri, Iqbal Hussain, Khurram Shahzad and Norwira Zazmie will be the first preferred set of all-rounders. Syed Aziz could be brought in for Zazmie or Shahzad as the other two are crucial in fantasy cricket.
Malaysia is expected to bounce back with a comfortable win over Qatar.
