Smriti Mandhana, the swashbuckling Indian women’s batsman, hasn’t been having the worst of times at home in the lockdown period amidst the coronavirus pandemic. A few days ago, the southpaw conducted a Question and Answer session on Twitter and she was flooded with a lot of questions. About her time in quarantine, she feels that fitness is pretty much a key.
Mandhana gets guidance from her trainer, who keeps on passing useful tips on how to keep up with the fitness standards even without hitting the gym. Doing household chores has been a regular part of her life. But pulling her brother’s leg has been her favourite way of passing time.
“Staying fit is very important, so I am working out. I keep in touch with the trainer and receive the feedback. He keeps sending us (all Indian players) all the workouts that we need to follow,” Mandhana said in a one-minute 38 seconds video by the BCCI.
The best thing I love doing is sleeping, says Smriti Mandhana
“The other thing I like is spending time with my family. We love playing cards. I help my mother with cooking. I guess washing utensils has become a part of my daily routine. However, my favourite pass time is to trouble my brother,” the Maharashtra-born stated.
Smriti doesn’t miss out on catching the latest movies and also loves spending quality time with her family. The women prodigy also prefers sleeping 10 hours a day at the least to keep herself happy and refreshed.
“The third thing which is love is watching movies. I am a big movie buff. So, I make sure I watch two-three movies a week, not many because I don’t want to get addicted. I want to spend time with my family,” she mentioned.
“The best thing which I love doing the most at home is sleeping. I make sure I sleep for at least 10 hours to keep myself happy the entire day,” Smriti added.
Most importantly, she asked the citizens of India to stay safe in the lockdown period, which has now been extended until April 30. It started on March 25 and until now the COVID-19 has accounted for the lives of over 300.
