Ace cricket commentator and analyst Harsha Bhogle decided to write something other than cricket and his effort received wide recognition. The 58-year-old wrote an emotional post on social media in the light of the ongoing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens.
The veteran, however, did not lose optimism when one of the netizens expressed despair over the prevailing situation, saying “My India isn’t broken”. He said while Indians are voicing their dissent and expressing disappointment at times, they are “fiercely Indian”.
Bhogle penned a post on Facebook on the current tension prevailing in the country. “Why are we creating fear? Why are we driving wedges into society?” he asked and raised questions over India being obsessed with its neighbours that have been fewer achievers in economic terms. Bhogle’s words were determined to prove that India dominated by the younger generation deserved a better orientation.

One netizen from Australia named Dennis Cricketmas expressed pessimism over the Indian situation and said the country’s ruling party is constantly being compared with the Nazis. He even slammed former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir for joining the same ruling party which he called “the party of division”.
I can only applaud Harsha for this. His India is broken. No other country’s leader or ruling party in the world is consistently being compared to Nazis. On this issue, we all need to be Harsha. Except for @GautamGambhir. He has chosen to be a figurehead for the party of division https://t.co/UOwPlsv8Tg

However, his verdict was not seconded by Bhogle who also differed with the comparison that the former put forward.
No Dennis, my India isn't broken. It is full of vibrant young people doing amazing things too. We are a fully functional, mature democracy. We might voice our dissent, our disappointment at times but we are fiercely Indian. That word you used in comparison…..never. https://t.co/2rTmEJs4dX

Harsha Bhogle was recently trolled for speaking to Ravindra Jadeja in Hindi
Harsha Bhogle recently grabbed the headlines for choosing to talk to Ravindra Jadeja in Hindi in an after-match interview after the deciding game against the West Indies in Cuttack. Jadeja was joined by Shardul Thakur and the duo added 30 crucial runs to see India home and win the series 2-1.
Bhogle caught up with them and started speaking with Jadeja in Hindi but when the latter replied in English, he shifted to that language. The commentator was trolled for his act and he defended himself.
