The 1st game of the National Triangular T20 Women’s Cricket Championship 2019-20 will be played between PCB Dynamites and PCB Blasters at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The match starts at 12:00 PM local time (12:30 PM IST) (7:00 AM GMT)
The PCB’s National Triangular T20 Women’s Cricket Championship for the 2019-20 season will kick start on Thursday when the PCB Dynamites face PCB Blasters in the first match of the 8-day tournament. PCB Challengers are the 3rd team in this tournament. All three teams will face off twice before the final. Dynamites are led by Nahida Khan while the Blasters will be playing under Rameen Shamim. This tournament will be helping the selectors to pick the squad for the Women’s World Cup to be hosted by Australia.
No interruptions due to the weather are expected for the Thursday’s opener at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The National Stadium in Karachi hosted 13 matches during Departmental Women’s T20 in 2018. Nearly half of those matches recorded 140+ totals by the first batting teams. Hence, we could see 130+ totals regularly in this competition.
Average first innings score: 130 (Women’s T20s)
Record of chasing teams: Won – 7, Lost – 6
(Will be added when there is an update)
Probable Playing XIs:
Nahida Khan (C), Irum Javed, Omaima Sohail, Kainat Hafeez, Kainat Imtiaz, Diana Baig, Nashra Sandhu, Sana Mir, Fareeha Mehmood, Ghulam Fatima, Sidra Amin.
Bench – Lubna Behram, Masooma Jaffri, Umme Hani.
Rameen Shamim (C), Aliya Riaz, Javeria Khan, Javeria Rauf, Maham Tariq, Anum Amin, Hurraini Sajjad, Natalia Pavaiz, Noreen Yaqoob, Sidra Nawaz, Ayesha Nasim, Tuba Hassan.
Bench: Sadaf Shams, Neha Sharmin Nadeem.
Sana Mir might not have an impact in the fantasy team as high as her stature, especially in the T20 format. She is more a bowler who is good at restricting the opponents but attacking bowlers who take wicket are needed in the fantasy team. Kainat Imtiaz has been quite good with the bat in the domestic T20 tournaments of late. She has recorded the 30s and 40s in the recent tournaments and also picked up a decent number of wickets. She could be a surprise package as captain. Omaima Sohail and Javeria Rauf have done well in those tournaments by scoring big runs.
Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:
Captain – Javeria Khan, Kainat Imtiaz, Aliya Riaz
Vice-Captain – Omaima Sohail, Sana Mir, Javeria Rauf
Suggested Playing XI No.1 for Fantasy Cricket:
Keeper – Fareeha Mehmood
Batters – Irum Javed, Omaima Sohail (VC), Javeria Khan (C), Noreen Yaqoob, Javeria Rauf
All-Rounders – Kainat Imtiaz, Sana Mir
Bowlers – Diana Baig, Aliya Riaz, Rameen Shamim
Suggested Playing XI No.2 for Fantasy Cricket:
Keeper – Sidra Nawaz
Batters – Irum Javed, Omaima Sohail, Noreen Yaqoob, Javeria Khan, Javeria Rauf (VC)
All-Rounders – Kainat Imtiaz (C)
Bowlers – Ghulam Fatima, Nashra Sandhu, Aliya Riaz, Natalia Pavaiz
As this tournament will be the guideline for the T20 squad selection, expect well-known names feature in the playing XI and make big contributions in their respective departments. It is unsure that there will be any toss update before the deadline.
The Dynamites seem to have players with better experience compared to the Blasters.
