2020 is a year that Hardik Pandya will remember with a sense of great fondness. The Indian all-rounder hit the peak of his game in 2020 and delivered with the willow, whether it was league cricket or international cricket.
In the 13th IPL edition, Pandya gave the much-needed impetus at the end of the innings for the Mumbai Indians by striking some lusty blows with the willow. And, his numbers in the 2020 edition of the IPL make for phenomenal reading. Pandya scored his runs at an astronomical strike rate of close to 180 (178.98). He also averaged 35.13 and sent shivers down the spines of the opposition bowlers.
In the ODI series against the kangaroos as well, Pandya decimated the Australian bowling attack. He scored two nineties in the three games that he played, and scored his runs at a strike rate of 114.75. He averaged a whopping 105.00 in the 3 ODIs that he played in 2020. Even in the second T20I against the Aussies, Pandya scored a belligerent 22-ball unbeaten 42 to allow India to chase down a massive target of 195.
The all-rounder took to social media to indicate that he will continue with the same vigor in the year 2021 as well. The Indian cricketer also posted a few photos of a training session and captioned the post with just 4 words- “New year, same hustle.”

Hardik Pandya dedicates a lot of time to fitness
Pandya is an extremely hardworking cricketer who gives a lot of time to his fitness. And, his efforts bore fruits as he emerged as the ‘star’ of 2020 as far as Indian cricket is concerned. However, due to a back injury, Pandya was unable to bowl much during the whole of last year. But then, seeing the way that he is sweating it out, and his dedication to his fitness, Indian fans can expect Pandya to get the ball in his hand and return to rolling his arm over on a regular basis this year.
After the Test series against Australia, the Indian side is all set to take on England in another challenging series. England’s full-fledged tour of India will start from February 5th with a four-match Test series. After the series in the whites, India and England will play 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs as well.
And, if Pandya can continue from where he left off in 2020, then the England side will have a lot of headaches to contend with.
