Pakistan completed an ODI series win by 2-0 margin against Sri Lanka with a 5-wicket win in the final game of the 3-match series. Danushka Gunathilaka’s 134-ball 133 helped the visitors to finish on 297/9 in their 50 overs. Gunathilaka’s hundred kept the Lankans going at 5+ RPO before Dasun Shanaka’s blitz took them close to 300. Openers Fakhar Zaman (76) and Abid Ali (74) set the platform in the big chase. Haris Sohail (56 off 50) also scored a fifty batting at No.5 as the hosts chased down the target with 10 balls to spare.

133 – Danushka Gunathilaka’s 133 is the 3rd highest individual score by a Sri Lanka in Pakistan. Tillakaratne Dilshan scored an unbeaten 137 in the 2009 Lahore ODI while Sanath Jayasuriya scored an unbeaten 134 in 1997 also in Lahore; both against the home side.
Overall, Gunathilaka’s 133 finds a place in top five ODI scores of Sri Lanka scores against Pakistan. Jayasuriya and Aravinda de Silva scored 134 each respectively in the 1996 Singapore ODI and in the 1997 Sharjah ODI.
0 – Number of individual 130+ scores in an ODI defeat for Sri Lanka against any team other than India till 2018. As many as six 130+ scores resulted in ODI defeats for Sri Lanka till the end of 2018; all against India only. Earlier this year, Thisara Perera scored 140 in the Mount Manganui ODI which stands 3rd in highest scores in ODI defeats for the Lankans.
