Tim Paine, the Australian skipper in Test heaped lots of praise for Pat Cummins as the speedster has certainly emerged as the leading pacer for the national side in the last couple of years. There is no doubt about the calibre of the right-hand fast bowler, who is currently ranked as the No.1 Test bowler in the world.
Pat Cummins made his debut for Australia back in 2011. However, he was going in and out from the team due to his injuries. However, now he has cemented his place as the leading pacer of the team, who has donned national jersey in 28 Tests, 58 Tests and 25 T20Is in which he has managed to grab as many as 262 wickets across all the formats. So far in 2019, Cummins has played 11 games in the longer format and managed to take 54 wickets. And it tells everything about his good form with the ball.
Tim Paine opines on the finest fast bowler of his team
Aussie Test skipper Tim Paine said that Cummins is the best bowler across the globe and it is pretty evident from his stats. The 26-year-old has proved his worth on several occasions. Moreover, he is improving day by day as his career is progressing and 2019 has turned out to be one of his best cricketing years.
“He’s clearly the best bowler in the world, his stats will probably back that up. Not just for one series, or one Test, or two Tests here or there, he’s done it every game. I think he’s getting better with experience as well, I think you’re noticing he’s not always bowling high-140s anymore, which is a great, great attribute and skill,” Paine said as quoted by cricket.com.au.
Earlier this year, Cummins also became the second-fastest bowler to grab 100 Test wickets after the former legendary bowler Charlie Turner. He is currently involved in Trans-Tasmanian Test series against New Zealand. In the series opener, he successfully took a six-wicket haul and helped his side in registering an emphatic win by a margin of 296 runs. Now, he would be gearing up for the Boxing Day Test that is scheduled to be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne.
