The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday announced that One 97 Communications Pvt. Ltd. (Paytm) have acquired the sponsorship rights for the BCCI International and Domestic matches.
The winning bid was at a price of INR 326.80 Crores to be paid for 2019-23 home season. The winning bid was INR 3.80 Crores which is at 58% incremental value in comparison to the previous per match value of INR 2.4 Crores.

Mr Rahul Johri, BCCI CEO said, “I’m pleased to announce Paytm as the BCCI home series title sponsor. Paytm is one of the new generation companies of India and we at the BCCI are proud of Paytm continuing its long-standing commitment with Indian Cricket.”

India’s home season starts in September
India are currently in the West Indies where they’ll be taking part in the two-match Test series. Prior to that the Virat Kohli-captained unit won the T20I and ODI series. Out of six games on the tour against the Caribbean team, India have won five of them with one ODI at the Providence Stadium in Guyana getting washed off. Thereafter, they will return home to face South Africa.
The itinerary against the Proteas includes three T20Is and as many Tests. For India, it will be their second assignment in the ongoing World Test Championship. Then in November, Bangladesh are scheduled to tour India for a T20I and Test series. India’s campaign in 2018 doesn’t end with the series. In December, the Windies will tour them for a three-match ODI and a three-match T20I series.
South Africa will come back to India for another series in March 2020. Australia and Zimbabwe are then scheduled to tour India for full-fledged series. Virat Kohli and his men have a tough road ahead of them and the expectations will remain high throughout. Meanwhile, India’s focus will also be on the 2020 T20 World Cup in Australia, set to be played in October next year.
