Narendra Modi, the Honourable Prime Minister of India, has been in the thick of things in the last few weeks. The dignitary and the Indian government have been on their toes as India are continuing their fight for the coronavirus pandemic. The lockdown, which was initially until April 14 has been extended until May 3 as the COVID-19 have increased over the time period.
He has addressed the nation for a few times where he made the citizens of India aware of the precautionary measures. Directives of keeping oneself sanitized and avoiding social distancing have also been circulated in the last few weeks or so. BCCI comes forward
In the meantime, the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) is also doing its bit for mitigating the damage caused by the ungodly virus. To start with, the body donated INR 51 crores to the PM-Cares fund. It has also suspended all kinds of cricket around the country. Recently, the world’s richest cricket board raised awareness of the importance of wearing masks with a video.
In the clip, a number of prominent Indian cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, Smriti Mandhana and Mithali Raj, were seen, speaking about the importance of masks. The players asked the people to stay indoors and not go out without wearing masks.
PM Modi found the initiative as a heartfelt one and lauded the BCCI for the step. He also asked the netizens to join the Team Mask Force. “Among the most important tasks today- be a part of #TeamMaskForce. Small but essential precautions can keep us all safe. Important to spread awareness about it,” PM Modi wrote on Twitter while sharing BCCI’s video.
