The seventh season of Pro Kabaddi League is approaching its final legs. The first eliminator match was played between Bengaluru Bulls and U.P Yoddha in Ahmedabad on Monday. It was a closely fought match, with Bengaluru beating Yoddha by only three points (48-45) difference. Raider Pawan Sherawat scored 20 raid points for Bengaluru. They are now up against Delhi Dabang for semifinal clash.
Yoddha defeated the Bulls both times when they met during league stage matches. Yoddha dominated the initial few minutes. They were leading by 20-17 points at the end of the first half. But Bulls gradually began to come back into the match in the second half. The match went into its last five minutes with Yoddha leading by 8 points margin. Though Pawan produced a few important raids and subsequently clinch and all-out for his team Bengaluru Bulls. They were leading by only one point at the dying moments of the match but Surender Gill managed to pull off a successful raid to level the score. Then the match went into extra-time. Yoddha started the extra-time with a two-point raid by Rishank Devadiga. But Pawan managed four-point raid to give Bangaluru three-point lead which was enough for them to claim victory.
MUMBAI BEATS HARYANA:
In another eliminator of the day, U Mumba beat Haryana Steelers by 46-38 points. Raiders Abhishek Singh (16 points) and Arjun Deshwal (15 points) were the standout performers for Mumba. In the first half, both teams were fighting closely. The scores for both teams were level at 10-10 in just 12 minutes of the match. But Arjun Deshwal and Abhishek Singh of the Mumbai team managed to pick up important raid points. At the end of the first half, Mumba was leading by 22-15 points. Later Abhishek and Arjun both scored Super-10 to secure victory for Mumba. They will next play Bengal Warriors in the semifinal.
