Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans were up against each other in the seventh match of the ongoing 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at National Stadium in Karachi on February 26, Friday. With a comprehensive performance both with the bat and ball, Sultans scripted a memorable victory against Qalandars by 7 wickets and won their second game of the tournament.
Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and invited the Lahore Qalandars to bat first. Batting first, Qalandars managed to post a total of 157 runs in 20 overs on the back of a sublime knock of 60 runs by Mohammad Hafeez. Joe Denly and Samit Patel also made notable contributions by adding 31 and 26 runs to the scoreboard.
For Sultans, Shahnawaz Dhani and Carlos Braithwaite were pick of the bowlers with two wickets each under their belt. Usman Qadir also managed to scalp the wicket of wicketkeeper-batsman Ben Dunk.

In reply, Multan Sultans had a disastrous start to their innings as they lost their opening batsman Chris Lynn in the first over only. On the third delivery of the first over, Shaheen Afridi bowled a toe-crushing and blistering yorker which managed to rattle Lynn.
Lynn expected the ball to swing in a touch but it didn’t and he played it down the wrong line. Thus, the ball managed to dismantle the stumps and Lynn had to go back to the pavilion after scoring a two-ball duck. Lynn, who was in good form in the just-concluded Big Bash League (BBL), had failed to perform as per the expectations in PSL and has returned with the scores of 1,1 and 0 In his first three matches this season.

Shoaib Maqsood was also at his fluent best with the willow as he scored 61 runs off 41 balls including 7 boundaries and 2 maximums. For Lahore, Shaheen Afridi ended up with two wickets while Samit Patel also picked one wicket.
