Larger than life Lala Amarnath biopic may be Rajkumar Hirani’s next project
Rajkumar Hirani has been flooded with cricket scripts with one being on the life of India’s first Test centurion Lala Amarnath and another a script written by his associate Abhijat Joshi. “Rajkumar Hirani has been approached with two films based on cricket: a Fox Star film, the larger-than-life Lala Amarnath biopic that has been written by Piyush Gupta and Neeraj Singh, while another cricket story is also being written by Abhijat Joshi,” an industry insider was quoted as saying by Deccan Chronicle.
The 57-year-old director has an excellent track record and cricket is a subject that might entice the public from the sport-crazy nation to watch the movies made by him. You have the example of MS Dhoni’s biopic which was a huge hit and was directed by Neeraj Pandey.
