Australian opening batsman, David Warner has taken a hilarious jibe on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) winning this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to host the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) from September 19 to November 8 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
RCB’s journey in the cash-rich league has been nothing less than a roller-coaster ride. The franchise has failed to win a single title in the last 12 editions of the tournament despite having a lethal batting line-up. Though they have finished at the bottom of the league table numerous times, RCB has made three appearances in the finals.
The Virat Kohli-led team played the season finals in 2009, 2011, and 2016 against Deccan Chargers (now Sunrisers Hyderabad), Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively.
David Warner’s reply to a fan rooting for RCB
On August 1 (Saturday), Warner took to Instagram to share a picture of the IPL trophy. Along with the picture, in the caption, the swashbuckling batsman asked the fans their thoughts on who would be lifting the precious trophy this year. There was a mixed response from the people in the comment section as all were rooting for their favorite teams.

Notably, David Warner will resume his captain duties for the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad this year. In his IPL career of 11 years, he has played 126 matches scoring 4,706 runs at an average of 43.2.
Though people in the comment section were rooting for SRH too, the comment that caught the attention of the left-handed batsman was by an RCB fan. A fan reckoned that this year Virat Kohli & Co. will lift the trophy for the first time. Taking a sly dig at RCB, the southpaw asked the fan if he really believes that RCB can win the title.

Interestingly, the David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad had defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2016 finals. Hyderabad had put a total of 209 on the board after electing to bat first. Despite the strong foundation laid by the openers Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle, RCB had failed to reach the target.
