The second T20I of the three-match series between Australia and India witnessed a thrilling affair as the Men in Blue emerged victorious by 6 wickets at Sydney Cricket Ground. It was a comprehensive victory for the visitors as left-arm quick T Natarajan was excellent with the ball while Hardik Pandya along with skipper Virat Kohli and opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan made significant contributions with the willow.
Meanwhile, Indian skipper Kohli managed to hog all the limelight after he dropped an easy catch. Virat is known to be a live wire on the field and has some excellent catches to his name. However, the batsman isn’t at his fluent best in the field and has dropped a few easy catches in the first and second T20I that could have proved to be very expensive for the Indian team but they managed to win both the games.
In the second T20I, Matthew Wade was captaining Australia as Aaron Finch was unfit. The stand-in captain was in a red-hot form as he smashed 58 runs in just 32 deliveries. India was desperately looking for his wicket to restrict the flow of the runs and the spinner Washington Sundar gave them an easy opportunity. On the last ball of the 8th over, he bowled a slower one through the air and Wade tried to flick it but it got a leading edge, and Kohli, who was standing at the cover, tried to take that easy catch.
However, it slipped from his hand but he soon redeemed himself as he quickly passed the bowl to wicketkeeper KL Rahul who uprooted the stumps and Wade was run-out. It was a comical situation in the middle as there was a communication error between Wade and Steve Smith which led to an easy run-out.
Stuart Broad poked fun at James Anderson
England veteran bowler Stuart Broad also opined on this hilarious incident via his official Twitter handle. The veteran tagged his teammate and good friend James Anderson in the viral tweet that featured India’s comedy of errors against Australia in the 2nd T20I on Sunday. “Remind you of anything @jimmy9 ?,” Broad said in his tweet.

Notably, during the Pakistan tour of England earlier this year, England pacer James Anderson was on the verge of completing 600 wickets in the international circuit when Broad failed to take an easy catch on the delivery off Anderson but took the wicket for his team by executing a direct hit and sending the batsman back to the pavilion.
