Zimbabwe Cricket has been grappled with turmoil for quite some time now. The situation never improved and recently, the ICC suspended them with immediate effect. It has been inflicted as their cricket has failed to fulfil the obligation of not ensuring government interference in administration. Already a couple of players in Sikandar Raza and Solomon Mire have hung their boots.
The suspension meant that the ICC withdrew its funding from Zimbabwe Cricket and the national team has been barred from participating at ICC events, such as the T20 World Cup qualifier in October. Moments after the decision Raza explained how the players of the national team has been worried over the state of cricket in the country. He was disappointed by the way a number of careers have come to an end.

Both Raza and Mire played in the recently concluded ODI and T20I series in Zimbabwe. Never did they know that the games would be their last, donning the national colours. Quite expectantly, Raza was devastated by the recent developments, which has led to the unemployment of a number of people.
Raza took to Twitter and wrote, “How one decision has made a team, strangers How one decision has made so many people unemployed How one decision affect so many families How one decision has ended so many careers Certainly not how I wanted to say goodbye to international cricket,”

In the meantime, a number of people are hoping for Zimbabwe cricket to make a comeback. One of them is Bangladesh fast bowler Rubel Hossain. The speedster wasn’t a happy man after Zimbabwe’s suspension. The experienced seamer replied to Raza’s tweet and wrote, “Sorry to hear the news. Hope you guys make a comeback to cricket very soon.”

As far as Rubel is concerned, he didn’t have the greatest of outings in the World Cup. He was in an out of the side owing to his poor form. Back in 2015, he was one of the very reasons why Bangladesh qualified for the quarter-final of the World Cup. He is now set to travel to Sri Lanka for the ODI series.
