On the eve of the commencement of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the fans were greeted with a piece of good news as former Indian cricketer and batting great Sachin Tendulkar has been discharged from the hospital and will now practice self-isolation at his home.
Tendulkar tested positive for the novel coronavirus on March 27 and immediately isolated himself from the rest of the world and took all the necessary precautions. The legend announced the news of him contracting the novel coronavirus via his official Twitter handle.
On April 2, the 47-year-old was hospitalized on the advice of doctors and other medical staff. After almost a week of staying in the hospital, there has been an improvement in the condition of Sachin Tendulkar and he has returned back home. However, the Mumbai-born is yet to return the negative result for the virus.
After returning home, the Little Master took to his official Twitter handle to express gratitude for all the love and messages he has been receiving for the past few days along with informing people about his homecoming.
“I have just come home from the hospital and will remain isolated while continuing to rest and recuperate. I would like to thank everyone for all the good wishes and prayers. Really appreciate it,” he wrote in a message on Twitter. “I remain grateful to all the medical staff who took such good care of me and have been working tirelessly for over a year in such difficult circumstances,” the batting maestro added.
