Due to the coronavirus threat, all cricket matches have been cancelled around the world. All the famous personalities and cricketers are coming together and helping the community in whichever way possible. In India, more than 7,000 people have been affected due to COVID-19. In fact, more than 200 people have lost their lives to this dangerous virus.
Former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar had decided to make his able contribution of INR 25 Lakhs each to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) Fund and Maharashtra Chief Minister’s relief fund to help fight this situation on the crisis.
Apart from this, recently, it was revealed that the cricketer has decided to provide ration to 5,000 people for one month to help the poor and needy during this time of crisis.
Sachin Tendulkar to help through an NGO Apnalaya
The NGO named Apnalaya posted a Tweet in which they thanked the Mumbaikar and paid their respect to him. In the tweet, they also urged others to make some contribution to the cause. “Thank you, Sachin Tendulkar, for stepping in and helping Apnalaya help the ones suffering the most during this lockdown. He will be taking care of the ration of around 5000 people for a month. There are many more individuals who need your support, people! Donate now,” tweeted an NGO named Apnalaya.

Sachin Tendulkar also tweeted in response. He appreciated the efforts of the NGO and told them to keep their good working. “Keep up your good work,” Sachin Tendulkar tweeted. Recently, the former Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar also contributed INR 59 Lakhs for the COVID-19 crisis. His son, Rohan Gavaskar, confirmed it via a tweet.

In the tweet, Rohan clarified that his father had contributed INR 35 lakhs to the PM-CARES Fund while another INR 24 Lakhs to the Maharastra Chief Minister’s relief fund. Several other cricketers such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Chesteshwar Pujara, Ishant Sharma, Suresh Raina have contributed to the PM-CARES Fund. The relief fund was set up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help the citizens fight the global pandemic.
