India stalwart Rohit Sharma, on Sunday, was involved in a Question & Answer session on Twitter where he answered a plethora of questions hurled at him. The prolific opener recorded videos and answered several questions with the utmost composure.
Rohit, the most successful IPL skipper with 4 titles under his belt, also revealed the player whom he would like to make a comeback to Mumbai Indians. The MI skipper picked legendary Sachin Tendulkar and even the Master Blaster had a cheeky reply to Rohit’s wish. Sachin responded by saying that he would’ve loved to open with Rohit while donning the MI jersey.
Shifting his base from Deccan Chargers, Rohit joined MI in 2011 and also played with Sachin. However, his wish of opening the innings with the Master Blaster didn’t come true. Rohit eventually went on to clinch the maiden IPL title for the Mumbai franchise in 2013.
Rohit Sharma also wished to bring back Shaun Pollock
It’s been seven years since the world witnessed Sachin bracing the field in the IPL. Since the inception of the IPL, the former MI skipper is regarded as an icon for the Mumbai franchise. Along with picking Sachin, Rohit also named another legend– former South Africa fast bowler Shaun Pollock– to make his return to the MI force.
‘If I could bring one Mumbai player not one actually, there are two. One and only Sachin Tendulkar and Shaun Pollock,” Rohit responded through a video.

Along with Sachin, Pollock also had a hilarious reply as he said that he’s ready to pave his way back into the squad if he goes to the nets and works out. “Will go to the nets and work out if it’s still possible,” responded the South African stalwart. While donning the MI jersey in 2008, Pollock took 11 wickets in 13 matches. He then worked as the head coach of the team in 2009 and took over as mentor and bowling coach in 2011.
Will go to the nets and workout if it’s still possible 😉

Mumbai Indians will be battling it out to clinch their fifth title in the thirteenth edition of the IPL. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament is set to be staged in the UAE from September 19 to November 10. Teams are expected to land in the UAE after August 20 and the BCCI has stated the maximum squad size of 24 for each side.
IPL 2020 was initially suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic but the world is likely to witness the T20 extravaganza in the September-November window.
