Former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar doesn’t seem to be happy with the ‘umpire’s call’ in the Decision Review System (DRS). He has urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to thoroughly look into the entire DRS system after India were denied a couple of wickets for the same reason on the third day of the ongoing MCG Test against Australia.
The visitors are dominating the Boxing Day Test at the moment and the Indian bowlers created a couple of lbw chances with the new ball. Joe Burns and Marnus Labuschagne were the batsmen in question on those occasions and both the times, the hawk-eye showed umpire’s call.
Both the decisions, seemed to have irked Sachin Tendulkar as he soon took to his official Twitter to express his views on the same. He cited that the players opt for review as they aren’t happy with the umpire’s decision and the ‘umpire’s call’ can’t decide their fate on DRS as well. He suggested the ICC to look into it in detail.
“The reason players opt for a review is because they’re unhappy with the decision taken by the on-field umpire. The DRS system needs to be thoroughly looked into by the @ICC, especially for the ‘Umpires Call’. #AUSvIND,” his tweet read.

India on the cusp of a memorable win in Melbourne
Meanwhile, India have put the disappointment of the ‘umpire’s call’ verdict early in the innings and the bowlers have continued to dominate Australia. They have picked six wickets already in the second innings and the visitors are in the driver’s seat in the Test match. All the bowlers have done exceptionally well picking at least a wicket while Ravindra Jadeja has scalped a couple.
Earlier in the day, India lost their last five wickets for just 49 runs. Ajinkya Rahane got run-out which broke the partnership between him and Ravindra Jadeja. The latter also was trapped in the bouncer barrage by Mitchell Starc and soon India were folded for 326 runs with a lead of 131 runs.
