Sanju Samson is one of the brightest talents in the Indian domestic circuit. For the past few years, Samson has been trying to break into international cricket but hasn’t really got any proper opportunity. The wicket-keeper batsman from Kerela made his first appearance in 2013 IPL season when he became the youngest batsman to score to an IPL fifty. However, the record was last season broken by Samson’s teammate Riyan Parag.
However, in 2014, Samson earned his maiden ODI call-up for India during the series in England. Unfortunately, the player didn’t get an opportunity. Samson could only make his T20I debut in 2015 against Zimbabwe. Even there, he played one match, after which he was dropped from the side. Finally, after performing consistently well for two or three seasons in the IPL, Samson made a comeback to the Indian side last year.

In four T20Is so far, Samson has scored 35 runs with a strike rate of less than 100.
Having played some significant amount of cricket in the IPL, Samson has been fortunate enough to face a lot of world-class bowlers. In a recent interview, Samson revealed which bowler has he found the toughest to face.
After facing several pacers over the years in IPL, Samson chose a spinner as the toughest bowler he has faced. Speaking to Manorama online, Samson said Sunil Narine is the toughest bowler whom he has faced. “Sunil Narine. Though I have played well against him in the IPL, he’s a superb bowler, Samson told Manorama Online.
In IPL, Samson has become one of the best domestic players in the last few seasons. In the last season, he stroked a magnificent century against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In 93 IPL matches, he has scored 2209 runs at a strike rate of 130. He has scored two centuries and 10 half-centuries. He is currently contracted to Rajasthan Royals. He has been with the franchise since his IPL debut and had only moved to Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) for two seasons when Royals were banned from the tournament.
