Gautam Gambhir, the former Indian cricketer and a current MP of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has been a busy man over the last few days. The coronavirus pandemic has taken a toll on the entire world and the pandemic isn’t showing signs of slowing down. In the grave situation, domestic help has suffered a lot as they are not being able to perform their tasks due to the lockdown.
Recently, Narendra Modi, the Honourable Prime Minister of India, has requested people to not cut their salaries or any other workers. The Delhi-born Gambhir, meanwhile, has taken a heartfelt step for his domestic help. She passed away and the southpaw was privileged to perform her last rites. He also called her family as she took care of his two daughters Anaiza and Aazeen.
He took to Twitter and wrote, “Taking care of my little one can never be domestic help. She was family. Performing her last rites was my duty. Always believed in dignity irrespective of caste, creed, religion or social status. Only way to create a better society. That’s my idea of India! Om Shanti,”

Gambhir lending his helping hand
Gambhir hasn’t forgotten to do his bid for the ones affected in the COVID-19 outbreak. To start with, he donated his two year’s salary to the PM-Cares Fund. He pledged to donate Rs 50 lakh more to the Delhi Government for procurement of medical equipment and treatment of COVID-19 patients. He helped out the poor people, distributing packets in his East Delhi constituency.
Gambhir was recently in the news due to his ever-lasting brawl with Shahid Afridi, the former Pakistan all-rounder. Recently, in his memoir Gamechanger, Afridi wrote that Gambhir had full of attitude during his playing days and also questioned his character on the field of play. Gambhir hit back, saying that he has attitude towards liars and traitors.
