With the entire nation uniting on the dissent about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the protest continues to go on in all parts of the country. However, the centre doesn’t seem interested in backing off and has maintained that the act will be in place. With so much agony about this issue all around the country, Sourav Ganguly’s daughter Sana Ganguly knowingly or unknowingly got herself involved in this controversy.
Right after this act was passed, she shared an excerpt from Khushwant Singh’s novel ‘The End of India’ on her Instagram story. While the intent behind this could have been different, it came at the wrong time. Surely, it seemed to provoke a section of the society and many opined that Sana voiced her dissent through this story. Thus, she ended up receiving a lot of criticism. This also came at a time when her father Sourav Ganguly is in the office as the BCCI President. Naturally, there were several questions raised.
‘She is too young to know anything in politics’ – Sourav Ganguly
Amidst all this criticism, Sourav Ganguly came up with a request on Twitter. He asked everyone to keep his daughter away from politics. The former India captain said that she is too young to know about all this.
“Please keep Sana out of all this issues .. this post is not true .. she is too young a girl to know about anything in politics,” Dada wrote in a tweet.

The excerpt read, “Every fascist regime needs communities and groups it can demonize in order to thrive. It starts with one group or two. But it never ends there. A movement built on hate can only sustain itself by continually creating fear and strife. Those of us today who feel secure because we are not Muslims or Christians are living in a fool’s paradise.
The Sangh is already targeting the Leftist historians and “Westernized” youth. Tomorrow it will turn its hate on women who wear skirts, people who eat meat, drink liquor, watch foreign films, don’t go on annual pilgrimages to temples, use toothpaste instead of danth manjan, prefer allopathic doctors to vaids, kiss or shake hands in greeting instead of shouting ‘Jai Shri Ram’. No one is safe. We must realize this if we hope to keep India alive.”
Finally a star kid who is raised to be a fearless and responsible citizen, who realises that it's important to voice opinions, who knows that social media is not only about telling people how pretty I look in my new designer dress, more power to u.#IndiansAgainstCAA #sanaganguly pic.twitter.com/0pPug836Ls
