The tensions between India and Pakistan have seen a massive escalation, especially after the abolition of the much- debated Article 370, which gave special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Imran Khan, the Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan, didn’t mince any words in saying that the Narendra Modi-led Indian government has committed a ‘strategic blunder’.
Khan said that the Indian government went against their own constitution. He also termed it a Hindu supremacist that posed a threat to Pakistan as well as the minorities in India. After the historic move, Pakistan also revoked its trade relations with India. Earlier this year, India imposed 200 per cent customs duty on goods imported from the neighbouring nation after the Pulwama Attack.
Khan also threatened for war, saying that Pakistan will not tolerate any violation. Amidst all the commotion of the issue, Shoaib Akhtar, the former Pakistan fast bowler, has urged both the nations to not spread hatred and refrain from giving any statement that adds fuel to fire.
Refrain from inciting the situation
“I accept that our situation is bad, and I also accept that you love your country and we love ours, but we should not become a reason for more hatred. Despite the situation due to the Kashmir issue, we should not give any statement or action that aggravates the tension further,” Shoaib was quoted as saying in an official YouTube channel.
“You should stand your ground and stick to your beliefs but refrain from inciting the situation, the veteran added. After Article 370 scrapping, the Rawalpindi Express, as Shoaib is popularly known, pledged to stand by the people of Kashmir and wished them on the occasion of Eid.
Previously, Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister of India, put forth the epic move in the Rajya Sabha. The state of Jammu and Kashmir has now been divided into two union territories of J&K and Ladakh. The decision was welcomed by most in the country, who believed that the Indian flag would be flying high in J&K.
