Former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik narrowly escaped a nasty accident in Lahore as his car had met with an accident outside the National High-Performance Centre (NHPC). The veteran right-handed batsman and right-arm off-spinner was returning home after attending the player draft of the upcoming 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League.
The Pakistan Cricket Board had organized a player draft for PSL 2021 that will run from February 20 to March 22 in Karachi and Lahore. Defending champions Karachi Kings will lock horns against Quetta Gladiators in the opening game at the National Stadium.
More than 400 international players had registered for the sixth edition of the league. Over 90 players from the West Indies, 80 from England, 40 from Sri Lanka, around 30 from South Africa and Afghanistan each, 20 from Bangladesh, 14 from Australia, and eight from New Zealand were in the line.
Malik had graced the event as a representative of the franchise Peshawar Zalmi and was retained in the platinum category. It is learned that due to high speed, Shoaib Malik’s sports car got out of control and crashed into a truck parked on the sidewalk of a local restaurant.
Shoaib Malik doesn’t suffer any injuries during the accident
The incident was first reported by MediaSpring Pk as they tweeted, “Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik’s car met an accident outside National High Performance Centre, Lahore,”

Meanwhile, the good news is that the former skipper hasn’t sustained any serious injuries as he escaped a major accident. However, the same can’t be said for his sports car as it is reported that the front of the car has been severely damaged.
The public figure Arsalan H. Shah gave the news of Shoaib Malik being in the best of his health without any significant injuries. “- For all those asking our very own “Shoaib Malik” is perfectly fine by the grace of Almighty, he met a minor accident while returning to his hotel after #HBLPSLDraft2021 #ShoaibMalik #Cricket #Pakistan,” Arsalan tweeted.
