As much as he was famous for his great batting skill, former England captain Alastair Cook was equally famed for his strong jawline and that famous smile. And that very look has now seen Cook leaving behind a number of famous celebrities faces to be named the sexiest man in Essex. The legendary batsman pipped the likes of Dolce & Gabanna model David Gandy and Love Island winner Kem Cetinay to win the award.
No other cricketer made it to the list as EssexLive announced the name of the 30 sexiest men from the region but the prize further made it clear that cricket is finally getting its due in England. Just a few days ago, Ben Stokes had pipped Formula One world champions Lewis Hamilton to win the prestigious BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.
And one can say that 2020 has started on a good note for England cricket after a historic 2019. Last year, England won their first-ever World Cup and came from behind to draw the Ashes at home. And 2020 has started with a stunning 189-run win over South Africa in the Cape Town Test. Cook being named the sexiest man of Essex will also make the England cricket fans feel good.
