India’s premier off-spinner Ravi Ashwin is known to talk straight from his heart. Often we can see the cricketer voicing his opinion on the majority of topics ranging from politics to history. The off-spinner was last seen playing for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Ashwin took a bold decision from not playing the remainder of the games to be with his family who was battling the deadly COVID-19 disease.
Recently Ashwin shared his views on sexual harassment stories and inappropriate behavior from teachers and staff in schools around Chennai. Sexual harassment is often a widely debated topic among the general public and stories of it widely angers and disappoints each individual. The 34-year-old too is unhappy after one teacher from Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan (PSBB) was arrested for allegations of sexual harassment in a school which he was part of while growing up.
“Been a couple of disturbing nights, not only as an old student of PSBB but also as a father of 2 young girls,” Ashwin tweeted.

Rajagopalan is one name that’s come out today, but to stop such incidences all around us in the future, we need to act and need a complete overhaul of the system.

“Rajagopalan is one name that’s come out today, but to stop such incidences all around us in the future, we need to act and need a complete overhaul of the system.”
“So heartbreaking to hear about the stories coming out from schools in and around Chennai, especially from PSBB concerning Rajagopal, have never known him in all those years of studying there but deeply disturbed about the news.”
Ashwin also stated that he feels worried about the future of the children and has urged people to come forward and take some action to stop such inappropriate behavior.
“I know justice and law will take its course, but this is the time for people to come clean and revisit the existing system. These are times of deep distress and we need to understand that we have left our children with no choice but to vent out on social media.”
“We need to create an ecosystem that encourages children to report the smallest of incidences that make them feel unsafe, without having the fear of being targeted for grades and beyond,” concluded the spinner.
