In the latest development, it’s been learned that Sony Pictures Network is set to telecast all international matches of Pakistan and also the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The T20 tournament was being broadcasted on Eurosport previously. Back in 2019, the tournament became a controversial aspect in India, especially after Indian soldiers lost their lives in the Pulwama attack.
The PSL broadcasting was suspended in India, though telecasting re-started later on. From there on, a number of Pakistan’s international games and the PSL have been shown on Indian television. For the time being, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) entered into a three-year deal with Sony. The revelations were made by Saj Sadiq, a Pakistan sports journalist.
“Sony Pictures Networks India has held talks with the Pakistan Cricket Board and agreed, in principle a three-year broadcast deal. The agreement will enable Sony to show all of Pakistan’s home international matches and the Pakistan Super League in India,” his tweet read.

PSL to start on February 20
The 2019 edition of the PSL was taking place in February-March, but the tournament had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The playoffs and the final took place from the mid of November. The upcoming edition is scheduled to get underway on February 20, 2021, with the match between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators. The PCB is also staying on its toes bearing in mind the grave global scenario due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Upon arrival, they’ll require two extra detrimental PCR exams earlier than being allowed to practice and compete within the competitors.
“The asymptomatic gamers or assist workers returning an optimistic take a look at could have to serve a five-day isolation interval with RT-PCR exams on day one and 4,” the PCB stated in a press release.
As far as their international matches are concerned, they recently played three T20Is and two Tests in New Zealand. From January 26 onwards, they are scheduled to take part in a Test and T20I series against South Africa at home.
