It’s been more than a decade since Sourav Ganguly retired from international cricket against Australia in 2008. But the veteran has been able to keep himself in the limelight. He has been seen weaving his magic in the commentary box with his voice. The former Bengal cricketer has a popular quiz show, named Dadagiri Unlimited, which is being telecast on Zee Bangla since 2009.
Celebrities like Arijit Singh, Shah Rukh Khan, Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty and even the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, along with whom Sourav has racked up a number of records, have graced their presence. Now, the southpaw has featured in a television daily soap for the first time in his career. The name of the show is ‘Bokul Kotha’, which gets telecast on Zee Bangla itself.
He is very jolly, says Ray
The episodes of the show have already been shown on TV. Quite expectantly, the viewers were left awestruck after seeing their very own Dada plying his trade in the daily soap. Ushasi Ray, the lead actress of the serial, was head over heels after getting to act with the legendary figure.
“I can’t explain how good Dada (Ganguly) is. I was very nervous by the thoughts that I have to share the screen with a global personality. But he is very jolly. While shooting he asked me about my residence, my studies and a lot of things. My nervousness went away when I was talking to him,” the popular Bengali heroine was quoted as saying in Indian Express.
Ganguly’s relation with the TV show doesn’t end here. A number of people from the unit of ‘Bokul Kotha’ have gone to Sourav’s Dadagiri Unlimited. Ray also didn’t miss out on clicking a selfie with the evergreen cricketer. She also said that Ganguly follows the TV serial regularly, if not daily.
