Sri Lanka cricketer Shehan Madushanka, on Sunday, landed into much trouble as he was detained by the police for the possession of heroin. Madushanka hit the headlines after he was caught in Pannala while carrying two grams of heroin.
This was the very first instance of any contracted player being remanded over the possession of drugs. While breaking the lockdown rules amid COVID-19 outbreak, the Sri Lanka player was caught driving a car with another person at the time of his arrest.
Following his arrest, Madushanka was sent on police remand for two weeks. In the recent development of news, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), as anticipated, has suspended the pacer from all forms of cricket.
25-year-old Madushanka broke into the international scene in January 2018 with an ODI hat-trick on debut against Bangladesh. After doing so, he etched his name into the record books by becoming the fourth player in One-day history to achieve such feat. He has so far donned the Sri Lanka jersey in a couple of T20Is along with a solitary One-day International.
