Former Indian cricketer, Sunil Gavaskar is known as a gem of a batsman that Indian soil has ever produced. He is well known for his contribution in Indian cricket and at the moment he features as one of the commentators during the International matches. On Sunday when India was playing their 3rd T20I against South Africa in Bengaluru, Gavaskar along with his partner in the commentary box Harsh Bhogle pulled commentary in Amitabh Bachchan style over a question.
The incident happened during the 11th over, when a question appeared on the big screen with the text “Who should bat at 4 for India in T20Is?,” with options Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul. Gavaskar referred this question as a Kaun Banega Crorepati question.
Hillarious from Sunil Gavaskar who turned Amitabh Bachchan over a question
When the question was displayed, the 72-year-old gave a humorous angle to it and asked the audience, “who should bat at number four”, in a way which Amitabh Bachchan asks in his show Kaun Banega Crorepati. “This is gold from Sunny G,” Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) captioned the video, in which Sunil Gavaskar can be heard speaking with Harsha Bhogle in the commentary box.

During the match, there was also a subtle confusion in the dressing room of Team India over the batting positions, because of which both Pant and Iyer had walked out after Shikhar Dhawan’s dismissal in the eighth over. In the end, Pant batted at No. 4.
Later, after the match ended, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli admitted that it was due to a miscommunication between the two batsmen, “I think there was a miscommunication there,” Kohli said. “That’s what I understood afterward. The batting coach Vikram Rathour had a word with both of them and there was a misunderstanding of who has to go in at what stage of the game,” Kohli said.
India scored only 134 runs at the end of 20 overs and an unbeaten knock of 79 off 52 from Quinton De Kock, helped the visitors to reach the target with 19 balls to spare. India lost the third T20I by nine wickets and the three-match T20I series ended in a draw.
