At a time when the sporting scenario has been halted due to COVID-19 outbreak, cricketers are not holding back from involving in Instagram live interactions and Twitter Q&A sessions. South Africa’s Tabraiz Shamsi, who last braced the field against Australia in an ODI at Bloemfontein, was involved in an Instagram live session with CricTracker where he answered a plethora of questions.
30-year-old Shamsi also revealed his current ‘Fab 4’ spinners. Just like the never-ending debate of ‘Fab 4’ batsmen across the globe, it will indeed be a tough task for anyone to list out the four best spinners in international cricket. Coming on to Shamsi’s response, the first name which he picked was of compatriot Imran Tahir.
Despite being 41, Tahir has time and again proved his mettle and has baffled many batsmen with his googlies. His exemplary career with South Africa speaks for his worth as Tahir has scalped 173 wickets in 107 ODIs and 63 wickets in 38 T20Is. He was last seen in PSL 2020 where he donned the Multan Sultans jersey.
Tabraiz Shamsi also picked Rashid Khan in his ‘Fab 4’
Next in Shamsi’s list was Afghanistan’s, Rashid Khan. Rashid stormed into the international scene and impressed everyone with his variations. Rashid was set to don Sunrisers Hyderabad jersey in IPL 2020 before the league got postponed indefinitely.
Next, Shamsi picked Yuzvendra Chahal in his ‘Fab 4’ list. Chahal, who has been a vital cog of the Indian limited-overs side, has an exemplary record. Chahal has scalped 91 ODI wickets and 55 T20I wickets in 52 and 42 matches respectively. Along with the national side, Chahal is also an integral part of the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore squad.
To finish things off, Shamsi picked Pakistan’s Shadab Khan in his ‘Fab 4’ list. The leg-break bowler has represented the Men in Green in 43 ODIs and 40 T20Is where he has scalped 59 and 48 wickets respectively.
Talking about Shamsi, the 30-year-old is known for his chinaman bowling and unique on-field celebrations. In a career spanning over 22 ODIs with the Proteas side, he has scalped 26 wickets including a solitary four-wicket haul. In the shorter format of the game, Shamsi has donned the South African jersey in 22 T20Is in which he has 17 scalps to his name.
