India will take on New Zealand in the third T20I of the ongoing five-match series at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Wednesday. Virat Kohli’s team is leading the series 2-0 and another win will see it clinching its first T20I series in New Zealand. The visitors came up with two strong chases in Auckland to leave the hosts rattled and it would take a strong effort from them to win it from here.
However, Kohli’s men are not taking it easy. On the eve of the game, they were seen engaging in a unique training drill that saw catching the ball with one hand. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) uploaded on its official Twitter handle a glimpse of the unique training session called “one-hand catching drill”.
In the video, the players were seen throwing the ball to each other and they were catching it with one hand. Certain players were trying to intercept the ball in between. “What’s with #TeamIndia’s new training drill?” the video’s caption read.

Vikram Rathour praises Shreyas Iyer
India batting coach Vikram Rathour, meanwhile, praised Shreyas Iyer for his superior performance with the bat in the first two T20Is. After scoring runs in the last ODI against Australia at home, Shreyas slammed 58 not out in 29 balls to help the Men in Blue chase down a target of 204 comfortably. In the second game, too, he made 44 in 33 balls.
“Having seen KL (Rahul) and Shreyas as young cricketers coming through, in my mind, I have absolutely no doubt that they are match-winners. They are getting their opportunities now and they are showing the world what they are capable of, that is great to see,” the former India opener was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
“Apart from having those (batting) skills, I think the mind set is amazing. He (Iyer) believes he is a big player, and he is, without any doubt. He genuinely believes that he is a match-winner and he is here to stay. And that mindset I think helps him, that is the biggest advantage he has,” Rathour, who succeeded Sanjay Bangar last year, added.
