The lockdown phase amidst the massive coronavirus pandemic has kept people away from their loved ones. There’s uncertainty over when sanity will prevail and it must be agonising for the ones, sitting in their homes, hoping for the situation to get better. And it isn’t any different for Young Turk Jemimah Rodrigues, the 19-year-old Indian women’s cricketer.
The Mumbai-born has loads of close buddies in the national team and she is dying to meet them. Smriti Mandhana, Harleen Deol and Arundhati Reddy seem to be her closest. Jemimah posted a collage of three pictures with her close mates and stated how much she has been missing them.
In the pics, she was seen, hugging all three of them. She captioned the pictures and wrote, “Tested positive for missing the homies ):”

Jemimah Rodrigues is a happy-go-lucky personality, who knows to play the guitar and also sings with a mellifluous voice. In the team bus, she has often been seen, entertaining the others with his ability to play instruments. Smriti, Harleen and Arundhati also enjoy Jemimah’s company. Recently, Smriti and Jemimah’s camaraderie was seen during the former’s Q&A session on Twitter.
On April 3, Mandhana decided to have a chat with her fans. In one of the questions she was asked if she was missing her close-mate. “Are u missing Jemimah these day? as she is ur close mate??” one of the users wrote. However, Mandhana funnily said that she isn’t missing her. “Not at all, I am at peace without her,” she replied. Her reply kind of made Rodrigues sad and pained.
She then requested Alexa to play Dutch-Pakistani singer Imran Khan’s popular number, Bewafa. “This is so sad. Alexa play Bewafa by Imran Khan ): #pain,” But Smriti hilariously tried to make her friend happy by requesting the song ‘Tera Yaar Hoon Main’ from the movie ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ “Alexa please change the song to Tera Yaar hoon main!,” she replied.
Both Smriti and Jemimah were a part of India’s squad in the T20 World Cup in Australia. However, both of them had a tough time and couldn’t get the runs in the hour of need.
