The spread of the Coronavirus has led to a debacle throughout the world. Sportspersons and personnel across the world are suffering due to the outbreak of the virus. With no matches around, cricketers have been told to stay at home and not go out. The experience of the Coronavirus spread has led to the players spending their time with their loved ones at home. But for one cricketer, it has all been about suffering.
Former Scotland captain Majid Haq was recently tested positive for Coronavirus. The off-spinner had self-isolated himself for a week due to high fever. It was reported that he was having pain in his body and he finally had to call the doctors when things didn’t get better. He was taken to hospital where he was tested positive of the Coronavirus and was put under medical surveillance.
While talking to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Scotland, Majid Haq shared his experience about the same. He talked about how a person struggles to breathe during this time. He also says it is the worst thing about the infection. Majid Haq also talked about his current situation and how he hopes to recover in the next couple of weeks.
I can make a full recovery in the next couple of weeks, says Majid Haq
“I’m feeling slightly better though and fingers crossed I can make a full recovery in the next couple of weeks. I’m hopefully past the worst of it. There’s a lot of uncertainty around it,” the former Scottish player revealed.
The off-spinner also went on to praise the efforts of the nurses and medical staff. According to him, considering that it is a new virus the nurses and medical professionals have been really good at their work. “Even though it’s a new virus and they could have been a bit weary, they’ve been really hands-on which has been great,” he said.
Majid Haq played for Scotland between 2006 and 2015. The 37-year-old was the part of the Scottish team which played the World Cup in 2007 and 2015.
