Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is all set to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who was the founder of Bangladesh. They have made provision of hosting two T20 games between Asia XI and World XI. However, the confusing question was whether Pakistan and Indian players would play together or not. However, now BCCI Joint Secretary Jayesh George has cleared all the rumours.
Pakistan and India do not share a good bond when it comes to cricket. They have always been spotted indulging in the war of words. Earlier, this year Pakistan had taken a dig at India saying that the Men in Blue forced 10 Sri Lankan cricketers to back out from T20I and ODI series that was scheduled to be played in Men in Green nation. However, after that, quite a few players cleared the fact that no one forced them to take that decision.
BCCI Joint Secretary clears the rumours surrounding Asia XI
Jayesh George, the BCCI Joint Secretary said that it is confirmed that none of the Pakistan players will be the part of Asia XI that is scheduled to take place in March next year. So, there is no chance that both the countries will together and play in the same game and there will not be any situation in which anyone has to pick one nation. He also confirmed that a total of five players will be sent for the games and the decision will be taken Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI President.
“What we are aware of is that there will be no Pakistan players in the Asia XI. That is what the message is, so, there is no question of both countries coming together or picking one over the other. Sourav Ganguly will decide the five players who will be a part of the Asia XI,” BCCI Joint Secretary said as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Recently, Ehsan Mani, PCB chief after the conclusion of Sri Lanka Test series, said that the security situation in India is worse in comparison to Pakistan and the countries are free to come to Pakistan.
