The 3rd game of the 2019 United States Tri-Nation Series is played between United States of America (U.S.A) and Papua New Guinea (P.N.G) will be hosted by the Central Broward Regional Park (CBRP) Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida.
The match starts at 9:45 AM local time (1:45 PM GMT) (7:15 PM IST).
This game could be streamed live on YouTube by USA Cricket.
United States of America made a great start to playing ODI matches at home as they cruised to 2nd straight win in the Tri-Series. They sneaked in a 5-run win against Papua New Guinea (PNG) in the rain-affected match to mark the occasion of their first-ever home ODI. They thumped Namibia in the 2nd match on what looked like a turning track. Steven Taylor had a perfect game with both bat and ball.
He took four out of nine wickets that went to spinners in the match against Namibia. The opponent were bundled out to just 121 while the hosts chased it down with 112 balls to spare. The United States will once again take on the PNG team on Thursday. The PNG has been going through a tough time as they lost all their four matches in the first Tri-Series of the ICC CWC League Two held in Scotland.
The first game between USA and PNG was cut short due to afternoon rain. The 2nd match had a forecast of rain in the evening but the USA dominating Namibia meant the match didn’t last that long. The forecast for the 3rd match is quite clear but there are chances of rain in the latter half.
Florida’s Lauderhill has been quite helpful for the spinners in the two matches so. The pitch for first match was more of a slow track but the 2nd game was played on a rank turner. It might be same for the remaining matches of the tournament unless the ground staff put efforts to change the nature of the pitches.
Average first innings score: 186 (ODI matches)
Record of chasing teams: Won – 1, Lost – 1
(Will be added when there is an update)
Probable Playing XIs:
United States of America (U.S.A):
Xavier Marshall, Monank Patel, Steven Taylor, Aaron Jones, Jaskaran Malhotra (WK), Karima Gore, Timil Patel, Elmore Hutchinson, Jessy Singh, Nisarg Patel, Saurabh Netravalkar (C).
Bench – Rusty Theron, Nosthush Kenjige, Sagar Patel.
Papua New Guinea (P.N.G):
Tony Ura, Gaudi Toka, Assad Vala (C), Charles Amini, Chad Soper, Lega Siaka, Kiplin Doriga (WK), Hiri Hiri, Norman Vanua, Jason Kila, Nosaina Pokana.
Bench – Alei Nao, Riley Hekure, Sese Bau, Damien Ravu, Simon Atai.
Monank Patel and Aaron Jones continue to be crucial at the top. Tony Ura would be looking to make it big after getting dismissed for a low score in the previous match. Steven Taylor showed his bowling side taking four wickets and later top-scoring with the bat. Charles Amini did have a good all-round game when PNG played the USA last week.
Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:
Captain – Assad Vala, Steven Taylor, Charles Amini, Timil Patel.
Vice-Captain – Aaron Jones, Monank Patel, Chad Soper, Tony Ura.
The all-round abilities of Assad Vala make him ideal as captain or vice-captain.
Suggested Playing XI No.1 for Fantasy Cricket:
Keeper – Jaskaran Malhotra
Batters – Aaron Jones, Tony Ura, Monank Patel
All-Rounders – Assad Vala, Charles Amini (VC), Steven Taylor (C), Timil Patel
Bowlers – Nosaina Pokana, Karima Gore, Jason Kila
Suggested Playing XI No.2 for Fantasy Cricket:
Keeper – Jaskaran Malhotra
Batters – Aaron Jones (VC), Tony Ura, Monank Patel
All-Rounders – Charles Amini, Assad Vala (C), Chad Soper, Steven Taylor
Bowlers – Nosaina Pokana, Norman Vanua, Karima Gore
It will be ideal to fill the squad with spinners and spin bowling options. USA kept out Rusty Theron in the previous game who has a brilliant List A record for taking an extra spinner. It shows how crucial the spinners well be in this series.
The USA is expected to continue its winning spree in this competition.
