India skipper Virat Kohli finally broke his barren run in international run in the second T20I against England on Sunday (March 14). His unbeaten 73-run knock off 49 balls helped India gun down 165 with more than two overs to spare. However, Kohli wasn’t in the best of nicks prior to that in the Test series and also in the opening game of the T20I series where he bagged a duck.
Soon after his dismissal in the first T20I in Ahmedabad, the official Twitter handle of Uttarakhand Police took a cheeky dig at the Indian skipper while sending out an awareness message related to wearing a helmet while driving a bike. But their attempt to ride on Kohli’s duck wasn’t taken in a friendly manner by the fans.
The Uttarakhand Police had to face a severe backlash on social media and they eventually had to delete their tweet. On the very next day (on March 13), they issued an official statement over the matter which many didn’t notice it seems. In the tweet, it has been clearly mentioned now that they intend to hurt anyone’s sentiments and they only tried to create more awareness about safety on road.
Here’s the tweet:
जो हमारा tweet @imVkohli को लेकर था उसमें हमारा उद्देश्य सड़क सुरक्षा को लेकर जनता को जागरूक करना था। यह एक सामान्य संदेश था, इसमें हमारा किसी की भावनाओं को चोट पहुंचाने का कोई इरादा नहीं था।

Virat Kohli set to take the field in third T20I
Virat Kohli is generally unfazed of all the off the field chatter and believes in performing in the middle. He did the same helping India win the game and level the five-match T20I series. The 32-year-old will now be looking forward to doing well in the crucial third game which might well decide the eventual winner of the contest.
Both the sides are in great form and in the first two matches, they have shown their immense firepower in respective departments. This series is deemed important for the two teams given that the T20 World Cup is set to be played in India later this year. England skipper Eoin Morgan is rather thrilled to get to play five matches in a World Cup year and is taking all these matches as a learnings for his team.
