The Round 3 Elite Group A and B game of the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy will be played between Delhi and Vidarbha at the Gujarat State Fertilizer Corporation Ground in Vadodara.
The match starts at 9:00 AM local time (IST) (3:30 AM GMT).
Both Delhi and Vidarbha aren’t in the best of positions in the points table of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. On one hand, Delhi has had only one victory to their name versus Baroda by 10 runs in a rain-curtailed match. In their previous game, the team, captained by Dhruv Shorey, slumped to a five-wicket defeat at the hands of Uttar Pradesh and are languishing at the bottom-half of the table.
Their next opponent Vidarbha, led by the enigmatic Wasim Jaffer, isn’t in the greatest of shapes either. They have played one match more than Delhi and are on 10 points. The side started with quite a few abandoned games and then lost back-to-back games against Punjab and Himachal Pradesh respectively. However, the nine-wicket victory over Haryana would give them confidence.
The weather is expected to be a pleasant one for the game of cricket. There are no chances of throughout the day, which is definitely good news. The temperature will be around 28 and 35 degrees Celsius. There will be a fair amount of cloud, but the sun will make its way out.
The pitch hasn’t been an absolute belter by any means. However, runs will be on offer if the batsmen put their heads down initially. It is also a strip that has assisted the teams, batting second. Hence, to be on the safe side, sides should look to field first and then track down targets.
