There are very few better sights on the cricket field than an animated Virat Kohli. It does not matter whether he is batting or fielding, the India skipper just knows how to keep the fans entertained on a cricket field. One way or another, Kohli keeps the fans involved and interested in the game. Something similar took place when India were up against Windies in the first ODI in Guyana. The series-opener was marred by poor weather.
While the mood around the field was gloomy due to consistent interruptions on the field, Kohli made sure to lift it. The India star was in his elements as he was seen dancing around on the field. Kohli was looking cheerful and was making the most of the break. He was seen dancing with the fans, ground staff as well as his good friend and former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate Chris Gayle.
Here is the clip:

No play in Guyana
The first ODI, nonetheless, was abandoned due to persistent rain and wet outfield. Only 13 overs were possible after Virat Kohli won his fourth consecutive toss on the tour. The game was marred by several spells of rain before the officials finally decided to call it off. The start of the game was not promising at all as rain played spoilsport early on.
When play eventually began, it was without a reduction in overs. Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis took West Indies to 9 runs in 5.4 overs when the rain arrived again. The downpour, however, lasted for a handful of minutes and was followed by bright sunshine. However, with the ground not equipped with super soppers, the ground staff had to toil hard to make the conditions playable. When the game eventually resumed, it was reduced to 43 over-per side.
But another interruption soon followed and the game was reduced to a 34-overs-a-side affair. West Indies were 54 for 1 in 13 overs when the rain came down again – this time dealing a fatal blow to the game. The officials asked the players to return to the pavilion and called off the game.
The second match of the three-match series will take place in Trinidad on Sunday (August 11). Following the three-match ODI series, the teams will play a couple of Tests.
